Works great, very fast, no compatibility issues with devices that support SDXC. Was able to do 93.53MB/s sequential reads and 56.63MB/s sequential writes. The random writes are slower, so this wouldn't be great for an OS (like a Raspberry Pi). But perfectly designed and very fast for a camera recording images or video.

ALERT! These may not be truly UHS-I U3

[[VIDEOID:c9b61fbda6b9c8d82898da1d315621d6]] I purchase this in order to record 4k on my Sony AX33 using the 100mbs for the highest quality 4k (vs 60mbs). I install the card and I set to 100mbs but, receive a message that I must install a U3 card. That is what I purchased. I did some research online and found a reference where some where having the same issue and others were not. I decided to go to a local store and I found the exact same PNY SD card. I purchased it and tried it at home. Well guess what? It worked! Not errors. I looked at both packages in great detail and only found a few differences. Note the pictures: The SD card on the right DOES work as a UHS-I U3 @ 100mbs the one on the left I purchased from amazon and is NOT recognized as a UHS-I U3. Works perfectly -- and at a great price

I got this card about 10 days ago and have used it extensively. I was particularly interested in its U3 speed rating, since I shoot lots of 4K video at a speed of 100 Mbps (I use a Panasonic ZS100 camera). So far, this 128GB PNY SD card has worked perfectly, with no hiccups or problems. Even with 4K video at 100 Mbps, it can hold a LOT of video.

Good price and no glitches -- excellent product.

June 2, 2016 edit: I've now used this card for a month, extensively shooting 4K video. There has not been one glitch with this card -- excellent performance at a great price.

Giuseppe Filotto has been involved in martial arts from childhood, achieving a 2nd Dan black belt in Shotokan Karate-Do (WSKF) and working as an armed close protection services operative for several years in South Africa. ...from the title and the table of context i thought this book would be something like Kadochnikov's works written for the first time in english, but no...there are no explanations of the bio-mechanical processes that systema uses to break structure or anything else substantial...
...what hurts the book is written on the back: "many personal anecdotes and experiences throughout the book make for an entertaining, humorous and informative read..."
...the title of the book should be: "my many opinions of systema as they relate to my extraordinary life and experiences with karate."
...every chapter sounds like its going to be good...but they all start with a vague description of an exercise or ability "to save us from overly scientific jargon" of course... and then immediately the chapter goes into the authors personal account of his telepathic childhood...or his rambo bodyguard days...
...if your looking for an opinionated new age take on this authors grandiose self-important image of himself, then this book is for you...
...but if your looking for something substantial like Kadochnikov's works or anything remotely scientific on russian combat experiments or bio-mechanics...this $80 personal journal isn't it...

Being that this is one of the few written works on Systema and that I'm a huge fan of RMA, it was a no brainer that I had to buy it. I would have to agree with some of the 1 star reviewer in that it's a little subjective (for lack of a better term). Shotokan Karate is referenced every few pages. The first 220 pages or so deal soley with Systema (refer to the table of contents). The rest of the book IMHO gets a bit off topic at times. As far as the price, I think $70 to $80 would be better spent on Systema DVDs. If your a die hard fan of the Russian Martial Arts (like me) by all means buy the book, judge for yourself.
I don't belong to any Systema orginization and I'm not trying to slander the book or the author. I'm just trying to give an honest review.

Brilliant Source of Inspiration

Both myself and one other training buddy have acquired this book. We train in Chinese 'internal' kung fu but have found this book an enlightening and horizon broadening experience. I have had an interest in Systema for a little while now and regard this book with the utmost respect for it's truly informative contents. It is written in an easy to understand manner and wipes away any delusions about what it means to apply oneself in life not just to the martial arts but in the general social interactions and discourses of life. It invites you to realise that the pursuit of a martial art is not just about the most obvious basic moves anyone can write a book about rather it relates to our perspective of reality as we attempt to clarify our position of why we're here on this planet at this time and our purpose..... Yes, a lot of the book covers striking, breath control, taking a strike,etc, but I feel the author really attempts to offer an understanding on what it takes to become a warrior of life in the 'now' and as simple as it may sound really isn't. It takes work and insight. Both of which are offerd up in this book in vast quantities. We (our Bagua class) quite often sit around chewing the fat on this book whilst stretching before class......

Some other reviewers I've seen play down the philosophical and quasi-religious aspects offered later in the book. Thus I feel miss the point on the author's attempt at offering up a description of the underlying unity priciples of the formless form pervading existence that through the discipline of Systema we can tap into. Loftly comments, sure but have a read of it an you may just find yourself aware of more than meets the eye when you're done....

excellent book!!

I was very excited when I received this book. I was delivered in a timely manner I was not expecting it to come soon. The pictures are very vivid and labeled accurately. This is a perfect book if you want to have a good command of the anatomy and is very relevant for practicing technologist. My only suggestion is that should be available in electronic form which would make it easy to carry around and convenient reference. I highly recommend this book.

Great Book, Free Shipping but it took forever to get here.

The book is great, BUT..... Ordered it July 10th and it did not ship until July 28th. It was free shipping and was stated to be delivered between July 17th and Aug 1st. I am just glad I didn't need this book I just wanted it. If it would have been for a class that is a different story, I might suggest looking around for faster service.

Essential reading for the Trump era

This is a highly informed and relevant account of a certain dubious species of political actor, the populist. I've read a number of books in the VSI series, and this is best I've seen so far. The text is lucid and engaging, so packed with useful information and descriptions that I found myself highlighting about a third of it and scribbling all over the margins. Though Trumpian politics feel entirely novel to many of us, this book gives us (Americans) a much-needed perspective on leaders of his typology who have cropped up all over the world in the last 40 years. A particularly helpful discussion concerned where populism fits within the broader landscape of liberal democracy, including the contexts in which populism has a de-democratizing effect by destabilizing liberal institutions such as the judiciary and the press. Finally, there is also analysis of the dynamics of the (relatively) leaderless grassroots populism movements including the American Tea Party and Occupy movements, and how such movements differ from leader-driven populism. This is essential reading for understanding our times.

Everything you always wanted to know about populism but were afraid to ask

Professors Mudde and Rovira Kaltwasser, both political scientists, have resolved a current controversy about whether or not populism is democratic. Much of their argument hinges on the distinction between “electoral” and “liberal democracy”. Populism supports electoral democracy, understood as majority rule and popular sovereignty (no higher authority than the will of the people). Populism opposes Liberal democracy which includes two additional principles: protection of (fundamental) minority rights and constraints on the “tyranny of the majority” by independent institutions such as constitutional courts. Many debates end here without considering the context of the political system. The authors point out that populism supports the transition to electoral democracy from authoritarian rule.
The authors define populism as an ideology that views society as divided into two homogeneous subcultures, “the pure people” and “the corrupt elite” and that politics should reflect only the general will of the people. Understood in this way, it becomes clear that populism opposes liberal democracy and pluralism. Left-wing populists often combine populism with a host-ideology, socialism, while right-wing populists often espouse nationalism, authoritarianism or nativism.
The authors find answers to the question, how do populists mobilize large segments of the population behind their ideology: by personalist leadership, social movement, or political party? The authors next ask what characterizes the populist leader: virility, charisma, ethnic identity, or outsider status? They ask an often-overlooked question: what accounts for the successes and failures of populism, both in opposition and in power?
Throughout this short book, the concepts and explanations are clearly presented and abundantly illustrated with cases, drawn especially from North and South America and Europe. I believe this book rightly will soon be recognized as the best introduction to the study of populism. About the Author

Professor Damiano Brigo is Chair of Mathematical Finance and co-Head of Group at Imperial College, London. Damiano is also Director of the Capco Research Institute. His previous roles include Gilbart Professor and Head of Group at King's College, Managing Director and Global Head of Quantitative Innovation in Fitch, Head of Credit Models in Banca IMI, Fixed Income Professor at Bocconi University in Milan, and Quantitative Analyst at Banca Intesa. He has worked on quantitative analysis of counterparty risk, interest rates-, FX-, credit- and equity- derivatives, risk management and structured products, and funding costs and collateral modelling. Damiano has published 70+ works in top journals for Mathematical Finance, Systems Theory, Probability and Statistics, with H-index 24 on Scholar, and books for Springer and John Wiley & Sons that became field references in stochastic interest rate and credit modelling. Damiano is Managing Editor of the International Journal of Theoretical and Applied Finance, and has been listed as the most cited author in Risk Magazine in 2006 and 2010. Damiano obtained a Ph.D. in stochastic filtering with differential geometry in 1996 from the Free University of Amsterdam, following a BSc in Mathematics with honours from the University of Padua.

Massimo Morini is Head of Interest Rate and Credit Models and Coordinator of Model Research at IMI Bank of Intesa San Paolo. Massimo is also Professor of Fixed Income at Bocconi University and was a Research Fellow at Cass Business School, City University London. He regularly delivers advanced training in London, New York and worldwide. He has led workshops on credit risk and the financial crisis at major international conferences. He has published papers in journals including Risk Magazine, Mathematical Finance, and the Journal of Derivatives, and is the author of Understanding and Managing Model Risk: A Practical Guide for Quants, Traders and Validators. Massimo holds a PhD in Mathematics and an MSc in Economics.

Andrea Pallavicini is Head of Equity, FX and Commodity Models at Banca IMI, where he has the responsibility of numerical algorithm's design, financial modelling and research activity. He is also Visiting Professor at the Department of Mathematics of the Imperial College London. Previously, he held positions as Head of Financial Models at Mediobanca and Head of Financial Engineering at Banca Leonardo, he worked also in aerospace industries and financial institutions. He has a Degree in Astrophysics and a Ph.D. in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from the University of Pavia for his research activity at CERN laboratory in Gen�ve. Over the years he has written books in finance and he published several academic and practitioner-oriented articles in financial modelling, theoretical physics and astrophysics on major peer-reviewed journals. He teaches regularly at professional training courses and at Master and Ph.D. courses in finance at different Universities and private institutions. His main contributions in finance concern interest-rate and credit modelling, counterparty credit risk, and hybrid derivative pricing.

Lot if material, badly organised.

Actually it seems more a collection of the results of various papers written in the topic than a teaching book. If you need to learn from the scratch get away, it's useless, if you already know the subject and wish to grasp the latest advances in the field this is the book for you.

Purchased to help think through my dissertation proposal. Yin provides a thoughtful overview of case study methodology, including attention to both larger considerations of using case study findings to further analytic generalizations and to the step-by-step details of doing case study research. If you are serious about doing case study research, I recommend reading this book along with Cresswell's "Qualitative Inquiry and Research Design: Choosing Among Five Approaches" and Stake's "Multiple Case Study Analysis."

I had problems writing my methodology section for my dissertation but after reading this book I had the AHA moment. I wish I would have bought 6 months ago when I started my dissertation journey.

Maybe a 6th edition could just take care of the poor writing?

This may be the go-to resource for conducting case study research, but the book is so poorly edited, it is extremely difficult to read. Spelling errors, left out words, extra words that don't make sense -- mostly many many typos. It appears the editor didn't proofread at all. The content is ok, but often the author appears to seem confused between case study and quantitative. Also, the directions for data collection are helpful, but I would not rely on this as my only authoritative source of how to conduct case study research. Maybe a 6th edition could just take care of the poor writing?

Collector’s Edition of Everything about DC Universe

Are you a comic book junkie? Are you a superhero fan? Have you been watching superhero animations and movies all your life? Have you been reading comics and graphic novels since you were a kid? Are you a comic book collector? Do you collect everything superheroes including but not limited to comic books, graphic novels, action figures, cards, posters, books, price guides, etc.? Then this encyclopedia is essential to own for you!

They may call you a geek but Superman #1 (DC) just sold for $ 100,000.00 and basically same goes for Captain America (Marvel)! Buddy, you have an investment sitting in your garage cabinets! You have your comic books well organized and neat on top of white cardboards inside plastic covers, ordered by alphabet in rectangular presume cardboard boxes with file numbers and you even designed your cardboard boxes with pictures, logos and alphabetic writings!

Good expantion

I originally had the DC Encyclopedia without the expanded updates and I have to say I like the updated information the larger book provides, what I think they did, however, war remove some of the character (doing a side by side comparison) to make room for the newer characters and/or thier discriptions. Overall it is a great book, I do think the next expantion should be just a separate, smaller book with the new material in it like the Watchmen world and the new "Before Watchmen" series they've started as well as the revamp for the NEW 52, (which I a very much enjoying for those who wonder), thanks for reading folk, have a nice day!
