The Inspiration for the New Major Motion Picture RINGS

A mysterious videotape warns that the viewer will die in one week unless a certain, unspecified act is performed. Exactly one week after watching the tape, four teenagers die one after another of heart failure.

Asakawa, a hardworking journalist, is intrigued by his niece's inexplicable death. His investigation leads him from a metropolitan tokyo teeming with modern society's fears to a rural Japan--a mountain resort, a volcanic island, and a countryside clinic--haunted by the past. His attempt to solve the tape's mystery before it's too late--for everyone--assumes an increasingly deadly urgency. Ring is a chillingly told horror story, a masterfully suspenseful mystery, and post-modern trip.

The success of Koji Suzuki's novel the Ring has lead to manga, television and film adaptations in Japan, Korea, and the U.S.

From Publishers Weekly
The success of the 2002 American movie The Ring, a remake of Hideo Nakata's Ringu, has excited interest both in the original film and in the novel on which it's based. The plot will be familiar to the movie's many fans: a reporter, Asakawa, connects the death of his niece to the deaths of three other high school students. During his investigation, he discovers a videotape with a terrible warning: "Those who view these images are fated to die at this exact moment one week from now." With the aid of a friend, Asakawa traces the video to an alleged psychic and her daughter, Sadako. As in a classic ghost story, fate singles out one, often innocent character as a scapegoat. But the misogynistic society that persecutes Sadako and her mother must ultimately bear witness to its sin-or perish. Despite a somewhat pedestrian and unintentionally comic prose style that seems derived from manga comics ("Ryuji was right. Men could not bear children"), fans of the movie won't be disappointed. Anyone curious in how the Japanese see themselves will find this book a fascinating, and ultimately highly disturbing, experience.
Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information, Inc.

From Booklist
The recent horror/suspense film called The Ring was a remake of the Japanese film Ringu, which was in turn based on a 1991 novel that is now appearing in English for the first time. The novel, which tells the story of a journalist investigating the apparently simultaneous deaths of four teenagers, begins as a traditional mystery. But it glides smoothly into horror when the journalist discovers that all four victims watched a videotape that guaranteed their deaths in one week if they did not do a certain thing (details are missing from the tape). If the journalist can't figure out what happened, he, too, the tape prophesizes, is doomed. Told with a minimum of horror cliches, the novel creates a sense of slowly mounting dread, as though something unpleasant is inevitable, and we are powerless to stop it. With the release of The Ring (and its Japanese inspiration) on video (and talk of a sequel to the American film), this novel is sure to be much in demand among both mystery and horror fans. Review
"Anyone curious in how the Japanese see themselves will find this book a fascinating, and ultimately highly disturbing, experience." - Publishers Weekly

"From its eerie opening to its chilling conclusion, this novel by the "Stephen King of Asia" will keep readers glued to its pages." - Library Journal

"But Suzuki is plowing a path that nobody else has traveled, as his 'Ring'-virus is born into an all-too vulnerable world. There are so many extremely clever riffs that never made it into either movie that readers aren't likely to notice how wide the road recently traveled is until they catch their breath and manage to look back." - Agony Columns

"Suzuki's ambitious trilogy does succeed, and it's hard not to be impressed with his aplomb in turning a straight supernatural horror mystery around into a piece of pure science fiction." - TIMES

"Suzuki is called the Stephen King of his country, but that's not really accurate; King isn't nearly as adept at creating complex characters, explaining scientific principles or writing the kind of dialogue that might actually be spoken by humans." - Las Vegas Mercury

Must Read, Ring
By Raymond Mickey
I think people should read this... If not for the fact you're a fan of movies like "The Ring" or "Ringu"; but because it works so much of the plot together rather masterfully. The translation isn't perfect; but it conveys the general feel I was hoping to get from reading this book... It's way more imaginative than the movies, and after reading this think that the movies shouldn't of played around with the lore as much as they did. It might be worth it to watch Ringu Kanzenban, since it's more closely related to the happenings in the book. With how oddly the plot flows in the movies, the transitions make sense in this book. In the movies it goes from A to B to C to D; but in this book it's more like A to AB to ABC to ABCD: The natural flow is just better. You can understand how the beginning is related to the end, rather than missing pieces of internal monologue, that would be important to understand how it's progressing.

You won't regret this one!
By Inahka
Firstly, I have not watched the film of this book.
I'm not too keen on horror/creepy movies because of those dang 'pop out' scenes.. I jump every time, even if I know something is coming, LOL.
So, I can't compare this to the film, but it was a bloody brilliant book! It was creepy and mysterious.
I read it in 2 sittings (I stopped last night, he he, it was getting dark!!)
You will not be able to put it down because you want to know what happened.
To me this seemed more like a mystery (albeit, a creepy one) than true horror, but don't let that deter you.

I was left with one question, which I think I can state without ruining it, what about the phone?! Wasn't that an important detail?! I never figured it out... Bah, well, I am a world class idiot when it comes to figuring things out (For instance, I never know 'whodunit?')

I will definitely be buying the next two books and anxiously awaiting for them to arrive.

I expected a lot more
By Naomi
This book had moments of being quite good and some really wonderful prose in places, but the overall story left me feeling unsatisfied and very detached. I really didn't care about whether the main character died or lived, because not only was his back-story completely lacking, but he was such an unpleasant, selfish person that I found myself completely indifferent to his fate. Upping the stakes by having his wife and child involved seemed haphazard and tacked on, as though the author realised his main character was unsympathetic and he needed a reason to make the reader care.

And then there was the utter confusion of genre. It's a sort of conglomeration of horror, thriller, literary fiction and drama, and can never seem to decide which one it wants to be. The literary aspects were, for me, the weakest and the most badly handled. The attempts at exploring morals were artificial and never fully fleshed out. Ryuji's character suddenly being absolved at the end was just ridiculous to me, and the "did he/didn't he" question was brought in too late for me to give a damn.

Then there's the story itself, which borders on the ridiculous. This mix of medical horror meets ghost story became to feel like the author was trying too hard to make it shocking. Finally, it wasn't scary at any point and that really disappointed me. The build-up of tension was poor, and the constant head-hopping and interior monologue killed any chance of any being developed. Overall, I didn't hate the book and I enjoyed it in parts, but I certainly couldn't say it was a good, or effective book on any level.

Life changing book!
By Sam
Engaging, practical, and pure soul food, are a few words that come to mind when thinking about Sayeda
Habib's book "Discover the best in you!" This book isn't just mere words on paper, but instead a practical
book that gives you a step- by- step exercises; some of them surprising and making you go "Ahaa" or "oooh".
It's very easy for us as human beings to get caught up in old patterns of thinking, and we often lose sight of
what we really want, or even what we are thinking. With "Discover the best in you!" it's like Sayeda Habib
rotated the camera phone, so that I am recording my own face, and hearing my thoughts. It was moments like
these that made the journey uncomfortable at times, but also allowed me to move into those a-ha moments. I
was doing the Carlton dance at the end of the book!

This is not one of those easy reads that you get through in one night and put on your shelf; instead it is
something that you can use step-by-step and keep with you wherever you go. Just make sure that you always
have pen and paper handy!

Many believe that the combination of coaching, psychology and spiritual growth is like combining oil and
water, because they cannot see the practical fit between spiritual growth and day-to-day life. I disagree
because I think that we humans need to bring a balance between the spirit and living our everyday lives;
we need the balance of spirit and the Self. They go hand in hand, just as the brain and spine cannot survive
without each other. Open your mind and be ready for an amazing journey where you will find yourself
getting results, and growing spiritually in the process as well. Begin working with this powerful book and start
achieving results in your life. I know that this is something I will keep using for years to come.

Girl Underwater, by Claire Kells

An adventurous debut novel that cross cuts between a competitive college swimmer’s harrowing days in the Rocky Mountains after a major airline disaster and her recovery supported by the two men who love her—only one of whom knows what really happened in the wilderness.

Nineteen-year-old Avery Delacorte loves the water. Growing up in Brookline, Massachusetts, she took swim lessons at her community pool and captained the local team; in high school, she raced across bays and sprawling North American lakes. Now a sophomore on her university’s nationally ranked team, she struggles under the weight of new expectations but life is otherwise pretty good. Perfect, really.

That all changes when Avery’s red-eye home for Thanksgiving makes a ditch landing in a mountain lake in the Colorado Rockies. She is one of only five survivors, which includes three little boys and Colin Shea, who happens to be her teammate. Colin is also the only person in Avery’s college life who challenged her to swim her own events, to be her own person—something she refused to do. Instead she’s avoided him since the first day of freshman year. But now, faced with sub-zero temperatures, minimal supplies, and the dangers of a forbidding nowhere, Avery and Colin must rely on each other in ways they never could’ve imagined.

In the wilderness, the concept of survival is clear-cut. Simple. In the real world, it’s anything but.

From School Library Journal
Avery is the youngest in a family of athletes from Boston. She's a sophomore at Stanford when the plane she's taking home from school crashes in the Rocky Mountains. She is one of the only survivors, along with Colin (a teammate) and three young boys. They spend five days huddled in the wilderness, facing severe cold, snow storms, and a bear attack. Both Avery and Colin are uniquely qualified to survive—Avery's father is an ER doctor who taught her the basics, even taking her along to the ER on Saturdays to work by his side as she was growing up. Colin has a preternatural calm and optimism, as well as strength and a way with kids. But something happens on the fifth day that makes Avery so ashamed she cannot visit the boys or Colin after their rescue. She even lies to the media. Kells's choice to alternate chapters between the event and its aftermath effectively ramps up the suspense concerning the details of the tragedy and Avery's subsequent struggle with PTSD. Avery is a strong, if flawed, character, and teens will love her deeply emotional, at times angsty, story. There is a strong bond between Colin and Avery that brings a will-they or won't-they element to their relationship. Colin is a truly good person, and readers looking for a humble hero will swoon. VERDICT With the pacing of a thriller and the heart of a romance, the novel steers readers through one young woman's survival of a devastating tragedy.—Angela Carstensen, Convent of the Sacred Heart, New York City

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC - intense, addictive & emotional
By ktu35114
Thank you Judy from Random House Australia for inviting me to read this fabulous debut. Claire Kells has created one amazing New Adult romance. Her characters are complex and the topic is no easy subject to write about or read for that matter, PTSD is a taboo subject really, but the realism Ms Kells inflicts in her book places you right in the heart of Avery. The details of the plane crash were meticulous and with so many happening in real life these days, it brings to the forefront the topic of locator beacons. I really loved the scene when the plane was falling between Colin and Avery, it was very sweet and inspiring. Colin is such a beautiful guy that is totally misunderstood, but he is my hero.

Avery Delacorte is a nineteen year old swimmer. She’s been in the pool since the age of three and is the youngest of four children. Her three older brothers are in the spotlight themselves, two being baseball superstars and one in Hollywood. Avery had moved across the country to be part of the best college swim team and to escape expectations from her family.

Avery became a different person when she moved, popular and social and a much loved boyfriend that’s also on the swim team, Lee. Her first week as a freshman and the first person she notices in the pool is Colin Shea. His butterfly was powerful and he stands out against all the others in the pool. He was clearly born to be a swimmer and is being called the next Michael Phelps.

Now a sophomore and Avery is heading home for the holidays. Colin and Phil Markey (also on the team) are on the same flight. Colin is a massive muscular guy and ends up sitting next to Avery, though she isn’t happy about it; she has been avoiding him since she started college. Anyway, Avery dozes off, it’s a six hour flight after all, but is suddenly awoken with screams and panic.

Colin is calm and confident, he takes Avery’s hand and tells her “we’re going to make it, Avery” they weren’t going to die. How does he stay so calm is such chaos? As they fall from the sky, Colin and Avery look at each and then “don’t be afraid” BANG CRASH!

Will they be rescued? How will they survive in a wilderness that’s covered in snow? Will they give in to their true feelings? What will happen if they return?

The intense scenes in the wilderness, the survival skills that Avery learnt from her father and the love she discovers are all incredible in itself. But with the addition of the other elements about her brother’s, her family life and Colin revealing his, adds to one marvellous debut. Ms Kells is now certainly a favourite of mine and I cannot wait to read what she creates next.

A thoroughly engrossing book
By Chick Lit Central
By Jami D

We all know the statistics about air travel. How it’s so much safer than driving a car. How the number of people dying in plane crashes grows smaller every year, while the number of people who survive them grows larger. How, despite recent news, plane travel continues to get safer and safer every year. Yet who among us does not squeeze the arm rest just a little tighter during take-off and landing? Driving a car at least provides an illusion of being in control. There’s no such illusion strapped into a plane seat.

For Avery Delacorte, the protagonist of Claire Kells’ Girl Underwater, the airplane that takes her and her college swim teammates, Phil and Colin, from their California school to their hometowns near Boston, only represents the six hours in between her and reuniting with her family for Thanksgiving. Sophomore Avery finds Colin, a powerful senior, particularly intimidating, and is dismayed when he plops down on the seat next to her. But when the flight goes down somewhere in the Rocky Mountains, she’s glad that calm, strong Colin was her seatmate. Avery and Colin help three small boys out of the plane; Colin carries an unconscious pregnant woman on his shoulder. They’re the only survivors, and they watch the plane sink into an enormous, cold lake. Luggage floats nearby, but the lake is cold and the swimmers are hurt. They’re in the middle of nowhere and winter is coming. How will they survive?

While structured differently, Girl Underwater reminded me a lot of Tracey Garvis-Graves’ novel On the Island, as both books made me think about how long I’d survive in such conditions. Maybe about eight hours. I don’t know how to make a fire from two sticks, or stitch a wound together, or which mushrooms are safe to eat. Books like these are not only entertaining, they’re survival guides.

But structure is key in differentiating these two books. While On the Island (soon to be a major motion picture!) was told in a linear fashion that kept readers wondering if there would ever be an "Off the Island," Girl Underwater alternates between the plane crash and its immediate aftermath with Avery’s story a month later, as she tries to physical and mentally recover. The boys are hospitalized but okay, while Colin is still in critical condition and being transferred to a hospital closer to his home.

As this structure reveals itself within the first few chapters, I’m not giving anything away by describing it. I did, however, wonder why author Kells chose to tell the story this way. As it’s told from Avery’s first person point of view, it seems obvious that all five crash survivors go on to survive their five-day stranding. The mystery then boils down to simpler questions about why Avery doesn’t want to see the boys or Colin again. What exactly happened while they were stranded? Why does she feel so guilty? What is she hiding?

Girl Underwater is a thoroughly engrossing book. The scenes with the five stranded in the snowy Rocky mountains are so well-written, I was completely transported to the setting. However, the scenes of Avery coping after her rescue are sometimes confusing when they should have been mysterious. There are plot holes and inconsistencies that made me wish that such a wonderful book had had a better editor. And while I had no trouble believing that Avery’s surgeon father would have taught her basic – even advanced – life-saving medical techniques, it was too much that he’d taught her advanced survival skills as well. As the Church Lady on Saturday Night Live used to say, "how convenient." Still, these problems only slightly diminished my enjoyment of the book. Despite these flaws, it’s “unputdownable.”

Many readers take up the hobby to be transported to happier, more romantic places – Elizabethan England, high school romance. Then there are those of us who read to go to those bad places – haunted houses, war, desert islands, plane crash aftermath. These books show that not only can man triumph over nature’s worse impulses, we can also triumph over our own.

Read this book, unless you don't like to have fun.
By David
This book is a fun read, and Claire Kells has a remarkable knack for weaving a story of adventure, survival, love, and anguish.

This book will obviously be compared to the Twilight and Hunger Games series. They all feature a female lead character caught between two romantic interests, struggling with both internal and external conflicts and threats to their survival. They're also fun stories that make great reads. Girl Underwater breaks from the other two in some important ways.

First, it's realistic. There's no sci-fi creatures or illogical dystopian future. The scenario could actually happen. This puts a good amount more weight on the author's shoulders to keep things credible, and Kells delivers. She doesn't invent a new order of beings or silly technology to get out of a plot hole. Secondly, the heroine isn't just a confused teenager but a competitive athlete and interesting girl. She's someone young people can look up to and older people can hope to see in their kids. She has her flaws but she also has a multitude of strengths that make you appreciate the depth of her character.

Hollywood execs: buy the rights now. This book would make a great film. Readers: Snatch this book up and have fun with it. Then anxiously wait for the followup. There could be a sequel, but I'd much rather see what else Ms. Kells can imagine. I can imagine that this could be a sleeper hit that everyone comes back to read after the second or third book smashes records. So get in on the ground floor of this remarkable author's storytelling. People who don't like to have fun: you need not apply.

Six Sigma: The Breakthrough Management Strategy Revolutionizing the World's Top Corporations, by Mikel Harry Ph.D., Richard Schroeder

The extraordinary breakthrough management program--heralded by GE, Motorola, and AlliedSignal--that is sweeping corporate America with its unprecedented ability to achieve superior financial results.

Six Sigma is the most powerful breakthrough management tool ever devised, promising increased market share, cost reductions, and dramatic improvements in bottom-line profitability for companies of any size. The darling of Wall Street, it has become the mantra of Fortune 500 boardrooms around the world because it works.

What is Six Sigma? It is first and foremost a business process that enables companies to increase profits dramatically by streamlining operations, improving quality, and eliminating defects or mistakes in everything a company does, from filling out purchase orders to manufacturing airplane engines. While traditional quality programs have focused on detecting and correcting defects, Six Sigma encompasses something broader: It provides specific methods to re-create the process itself so that defects are never produced in the first place.

Most companies operate at a three- to four-sigma level, where the cost of defects is roughly 20 to 30 percent of revenues. By approaching Six Sigma--fewer than one defect per 3.4 million opportunities--the cost of quality drops to less than 1 percent of sales.

This is because the highest quality also results in the lowest costs. When GE reduced its costs from 20 percent to less than 10 percent, it saved a billion dollars in just two years--money that goes directly to the bottom line. This is the reason Wall Street and corporations as diverse as Sony, Ford, Nokia, Texas Instruments, Canon, Hitachi, Lockheed Martin, American Express, Toshiba, DuPont, and Polaroid have embarked on corporate-wide Six Sigma programs.

Six Sigma should be of paramount importance to every forward-thinking executive and manager determined to make their company world-class in their industry.

Amazon.com Review
Mikel Harry and Richard Schroeder think they've figured out a management program that really works. While at Motorola in the 1980s, they helped pioneer Six Sigma, a process that "guides companies into making fewer mistakes in everything they do--from filling out a purchase order to manufacturing airplane engines." Since then, the two have left Motorola and have turned Six Sigma into a lucrative business that saw over $100 million in consulting contracts in 1998. And now the book.

In Six Sigma: The Breakthrough Management Strategy Revolutionizing the World's Top Corporations, Harry and Schroeder explain Six Sigma and show how it's working at companies such as General Electric, Polaroid, and Allied Signal. The authors contend that most companies today are working at a "sigma" level of between 3.5 and 4, and that with just a one-sigma shift, companies will experience "a 20 percent margin improvement, a 12 to 18 percent increase in capacity, a 12 percent reduction in the number of employees," as well as "a 10 to 30 percent capital reduction." Sigma is a quality metric that counts the number of defects per million opportunities (DPMO). For example, a sigma level of 3.5 means that a process has 22,700 DPMO; a sigma level of 4.5, 1,350 DPMO; and a perfect six sigma, 3 DPMO.

At the heart of Six Sigma is the notion that quality saves money--lots of money. Harry and Schroeder argue that for most companies "the cost of quality is roughly 25 to 40 percent of sales revenue ... at six sigma the cost of quality declines to less than one percent of sales revenue." The idea is not to create quality-assurance programs but to eliminate the need for them altogether. When a company is operating at six sigma, costs that would otherwise go to inspection, rework, warranties, and customer service drop to the bottom line. Six Sigma is a compelling concept that many companies have tied their futures to. Well written, this book is a great introduction for investors, managers, and anyone who sees Six Sigma on the horizon. --Harry C. Edwards

Review
What the business world is saying about Six Sigma:

"[Six Sigma] is the most important initiative GE has ever undertaken--it is part of the genetic code of our future leadership."
--Jack Welch, CEO, GE

"We've taken the difficult but basic Six Sigma skill of reducing defects and applied it to every business process, from inventing and commercializing a new product all the way to billing and collections after the product is delivered. Just as we think we've generated the last dollar of profit out of a business, we uncover new ways to harvest cash as we reduce cycle times, lower inventories, increase output, and reduce scrap. The results are better and more competitively priced products, more satisfied customers who give us more business, and improved cash flow."
--Larry Bossidy, CEO,AlliedSignal

"The [Six Sigma] Breakthrough Strategy gives new structure to the tools we already had. Structure has been the key element missing in Polaroid's drive for quality. I keep telling my people that the Breakthrough Strategy cookbook tells us how to use time-tested ingredients in new ways--For us, the results from the Breakthrough Strategy have been quick and powerful."--Mike Hart, Black Belt engineer, Polaroid

"Mikel Harry's innovation of Breakthrough Strategy has taken quality into America's boardrooms. While Dr. Deming's theory of profound knowledge built management awareness and Dr. Juran's trilogy helped to establish the foundation of a solid quality 'science,' Dr. Harry has demonstrated how to make theory become practice at companies like Motorola,ABB,AlliedSignal, and GE."
--Gregory Watson, President,American Society for Quality

A Well-Written Appetizer but No Entree Included
By Chris Mastro
A well-written book that gives insight into what 'Six Sigma' is all about - a change strategy for relentlessly driving defects out of your products, processes and services to increase profitability. It's about leadership and a structured, data-based approach to problem solving. Having been a Wave 1 Black Belt at AlliedSignal during the launch of Six Sigma, I can verify that the Breakthrough methodology (DMAIC)really does work. For those of you who have been through numerous 'TQ initiatives' and countless SPC campaign with no real impact on business performance, the case studies presented in this book are enlightening.
On the negative side, for those who want a complete A to Z textbook on how to implement Six Sigma in their own organization, prepare to be disappointed. No information is provided on the statistical tools that go hand-in-hand with the DMAIC roadmap (I guess the Six Sigma Academy can't give away all their secrets).
In summary, thumbs up if you want an overview and real-life examples of what Six Sigma is all about. Thumbs down in you want a detailed textbook or reference book on the subject.

From my prespective, readers who purchase a book on Six Sigma are somehow experienced on Quality processes and want to learn more on the topic. However, this book is a total dissapointemet, as it is more of advertisement than knowlege. The author could have written ten pages to describe what was said on 281 pages! All that was written were Black Belts, how vital were they to the process. No emphasis on the Six Segma process, no description of the mechanism from an engineering prespective. It is more of 'Six Segma is the best and we can deliver the impossible' approach! For me this could be a good Novel to read, not for serious Managers.

Loved!!!
By Shamy
I gobbled this book up so fast I loved it SO much!!!! I love all of Lani Woodland’s work. She is the master at hooking a reader, sucking you in, and keeping you thinking about her characters for days. I’m in love with Chance and Dare—they’re so real to me and I cared about them and was rooting for them throughout the whole story. Tension was always there. Pacing was great. This story is one where you forget that you’re reading and you just want to stay wrapped up in this world. Loved all of the side characters too. Loved the humor—found myself grinning and laughing out loud, but also filled with heartache in the parts that broke my heart. Thoroughly enjoyed this!!!

Take a chance on this book!

I really enjoyed this book. It had a Cinderella feel to it that I really enjoyed. The characters were deep with strengths and weakness that made them endearing to the reader. It was a light read with just the right amount of plot and romance. Very much enjoyed this book!

Once Upon a Twilight.com Reviews
By Once Upon a Twilight
This book had a such a cute story that could leave you with the impression that it could be a successful pre-teen movie. I had a smile plastered on my face during the majority of this book. Not to say it doesn’t have its heavy, trying pieces.

Dare Andrews, the son of a highly successful Hollywood director who was sold out to his limelight hungry ex-girlfriend, stumbles upon Chance, unbelievably optimistic girl with lots more blurry corners than anyone could imagine at an airport. Dare was there to pick up his mother and sister, as they were making the move from Miami to California, and Chance was there to met her boyfriend of three years only to find he had broken up with her over e-mail. Dare swoops in to make sure Chance doesn’t get the humiliation of a lifetime - and so begins a wonderfully deceiving relationship.

See, Dare needs someone to make him look good since his ex sold lies to the tabloids and Chance feels the need to repay Dare for his kind act of swooping in and preventing a lifetime of embarrassment. So they agree to “fake date.” Then only to find out they will be attending the same school. Eventually the lines between friendship and “fake relationship” blur and they’re being a couple even when no body's watching.

Both of these characters are extremely likable. Dare has a compassionate and caring attitude while Chance is extremely generous and independent. Apart from that, I didn’t find anything to make them extraordinary. Also, the development of other characters seemed to take too long for me. I was able to find out almost everything about Dare within the first few chapters, but as far as his sister’s secrets go, it took a while; same for Chance. The blurry parts of their lives were kept quite blurry for a while. Also, toward the last third of the book, there was a twist that just really reminded me of the end of “The Beginning of Everything” by Robyn Schneider.

At the end, though, it was a fun book with an interesting plot and likable characters. A fun read, for sure. - Bianca B.
